A moving Friday morning concert at the Church of Kiryat Ye’arim: The Bat-Kol Choir, a period instrument ensemble, and outstanding soloists come together under the baton of conductor Anat Morag, for a deeply emotional and rare musical experience.
At the heart of the program is Stabat Mater by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi – a lyrical masterpiece overflowing with beauty and sorrow – paired with the Sonata-Ouverture for Viola da Gamba and Strings by Georg Philipp Telemann, a sparkling instrumental gem from the Baroque repertoire.
The second half features unique choral arrangements of beloved Israeli and international songs: Chad Gadya (Chava Alberstein), Yihye Tov (David Broza), and Leonard Cohen’s eternal anthem Hallelujah – each performed as an individual piece in a rich vocal tapestry.
