In this deeply moving and highly expressive performance, Sylvia Kigel and the Jerusalem Tango Project invite the audience to return to the beating heart of tango, on an exhilarating musical journey from Buenos Aires to the concert stage.

With her deep, mesmerizing voice, accompanied by five virtuoso musicians, Sylvia Kigel unveils a rich world of sounds, stories and emotions — from the timeless classics of Carlos Gardel to the electrifying works of Astor Piazzolla, alongside contemporary touches and original compositions that breathe new life into the tango tradition.
The ensemble is joined by Claudio Cohen Trica, who brings with him a rich array of authentic South American percussion instruments, including cajón, bombo, Andean flutes and other traditional instruments. These distinctive sounds deepen the musical experience, adding colour, rhythm and the authentic spirit of South America.
The performance also features powerful selections from the South American protest-song repertoire, including songs associated with Mercedes Sosa, such as “Alfonsina y el Mar” and “Gracias a la Vida,” performed with sensitivity and haunting emotional intensity.

Professional tango dancers join the musicians on stage, adding a captivating visual dimension. The performance also incorporates theatrical elements and spoken introductions in Hebrew, creating a complete experience of music, movement and storytelling.
