In the enchanting and intimate acoustic space of the Crusader crypt, Vocal Circle invites the audience on an intriguing and surprising vocal journey in which the human voice completely replaces musical instruments.
In the programme “From Bach to Broadway,” the performers use fresh and original arrangements to create a rich and immediate harmonic world — ranging from hushed delicacy to explosive energy, humour and joie de vivre.
The concert moves freely between classical and contemporary music, bringing together masterpieces by Purcell, Tchaikovsky and Bardanaschwili with jazz favourites, Hebrew songs, folk music and beloved timeless melodies from around the world, including “Autumn Leaves” and “Ain’t No Sunshine.”
This is a sensual and imaginative musical celebration, reminding us why the voice is the most primal and moving instrument of all.
